Concerns Regarding Electricity Curtailment in Various Parts of Kashmir

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the electricity curtailment that has been plaguing various parts of Kashmir in the past week. This issue has caused significant inconvenience and hardship for the residents, adversely affecting their daily lives and essential services.

It is disheartening to witness the frequent power outages that have become a routine occurrence in our region. The inadequate and unreliable power supply has not only disrupted domestic activities but also caused setbacks for local businesses, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. The power shortages have particularly escalated during the scorching summer months when the demand for electricity surges due to the increased use of cooling appliances and fans. Families, especially the elderly and children, are left without relief from the sweltering heat, putting their health and well-being at risk. Additionally, the absence of electricity has hindered the storage of perishable goods, leading to food spoilage and financial losses for many households..

Given the strategic importance of electricity for the overall development and prosperity of any region, it is crucial that the concerned authorities take immediate action to address this issue. The government must prioritize the upgrading and maintenance of the power infrastructure, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to all parts of Kashmir.

Additionally, it is essential to improve the transparency and communication regarding power curtailment schedules. The residents of Kashmir deserve to be informed in advance about any planned power cuts, allowing them to make necessary arrangements and minimize the inconvenience caused.
