SRINAGAR- The 2023 Srinagar Premier Football League kick started on Monday with two matches played at Synthetic Turf TRC.
In the opening match, Star Kashmir FC went head-to-head against LoneStar KFC, exhibiting their exceptional skills and determination. Both teams fought hard to gain an upper hand in the match. However, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Waris scoring for LoneStar in the 45th minute.
The second match of the day showcased the talent of J&K Bank XI, who faced a formidable opponent in ARCO FC. However, the J&K Bank players dominated ARCO and won by a convincing 3-1 scoreline. Aakif Reshi from J&K Bank was awarded player of the match by Chairman JKFA Wasim Aslam in presence of Syed Amjad Rizvi.
Earlier, the opening ceremony of the league witnessed a dynamic participation from various administrative figures from JKFA, JKSC, DFA Srinagar, as well as the civil administration and J&K Police. Prominent footballers and coaches of the Valley were also present on the occasion.
