Gujarati Couple Dies In Pahalgam Rafting Accident

Srinagar- A couple from Gujarat died on Monday in a rafting boat accident at the hill station of Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Police sources said that due to fast-blowing winds, a rafting boat capsized in river Lidder drowning the couple, besides another woman from Mumbai.

They said the bodies of a Patil Sharmilaben and her husband Patel Bhikhabhai Ambalal, resident of Saijapurbogha, Ahmadabad were retrieved by rescue teams while Muskan Khan, from Mumbai was timely saved and removed to the government medical college (GMC) Anantnag for treatment.

Her condition, according to a local news agency KNT, is stated to be critical.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law.
