IRIA To Host Remote Radiology CME In Srinagar

Srinagar- With an aim to take radiology to every nook and corner of the country, the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA) in association with YUWA IRIA is scheduled to organize a remote radiology program—an expedition to Kashmir, a high-powered CME at a local hotel in Srinagar.

According to the coordinator, Remote Radiology CME, Dr Imran Nazir Salroo, informed CME will be held on 14th May from 5 to 7 PM at a local hotel here. Dr Salroo, who is an Interventional radiologist at SKIMS Medical College, Srinagar informed that during the CME noted radiologists including Dr Amarnath C, Dr Rijo, Dr BM Maheesha, Dr Pankaj Sharma, Dr Gaurang Raval would deliver special presentation on some of the burning topics.

President, IRIA, Dr Umesh Krishnamurthy, has hoped that the CME will greatly benefit the Jammu and Kashmir region. He said that radiology in India has evolved with a large number of medical practitioners including radiologists proving their mettle in the field and doing ground-breaking research. Postgraduate diplomas and degrees were started gradually in all the medical colleges across the country, which has helped the practitioners to divulge deeper into the research part.

The CME is supported by the SKIMS Medical College. Principal SKIMS Medical College, Srinagar, Dr Irfan Rabani has wished his best to the organizers, hoping that the programme would provide a platform for the medical practitioners to look into certain issues with greater concern.

Associate Professor, Head, Department of Radiology, SKIMS Medical College, Dr Muhammad Farooq Mir, wished the best to the organizers. Mir, who is a reputed name in radiology in Kashmir, said that in order to promote the study, the practice of diagnostic radiological and imaging modalities including X-ray, Ultrasound, C.T., M.R.I., PET CT/MRI and other imaging modalities, Radio-biology, radiation medicine, molecular imaging and interventional radiology and other related subspecialties, more and more such CMEs should be organized for the medical practitioners.
