Court Asks Ex-IAS Officer To Appear To Record If He Consents To DNA Test

Srinagar- A court here has former IAS officer Sudhanshu Pandey to appear before it to record his statement whether he consents to a DNA test if the court orders so to prove whether or not he is the biological father of the girl born to a Srinagar-based woman who has alleged that Pandey married her and the child was born during their wedlock.

The woman has alleged that in the year 2010, when Pandey was holding the position of Finance Secretary in the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, he developed relationship with her.

In the month of May 2010, she claimed Pandey converted to Islam, whereafter he entered into wedlock with her on 8 May 2010 and out of the wedlock, the girl was born on 12 April 2011.

She alleged that in the month of October, 2012, Pandey was deputed to Central Government and posted at New Delhi. He shifted to the place leaving her and the girl in lurch. She alleged that on 01.04.2013, Pandey along with daughter visited the native place of Pandey at Lucknow where she came to know that Pandey was already a married man having a wife and two children. She said that the former bureaucrat has abandoned her and the girl.

The court of second additional Munsiff Srinagar has issued fresh directions asking Pandey to appear in person so that his statement can be recorded.
