Srinagar- Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two hybrid militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) involved in an attack on a YouTuber journalist in South Kashmir’s Shopian district last year.
Suhaib Reyaz and Anayat Ullah Iqbal, both residents of Saidapora Payeen were picked up by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the militant attack on a YouTuber journalist, a police spokesperson said. The duo, he said, admitted their involvement in the terror attack.
During investigation, the spokesperson said, it also came to fore that duo were working as hybrid militants of proscribed militant outfit TRF
On the disclosure of the duo, the spokesperson said, a pistol along with its magazine and 5 rounds besides, an IED has been recovered by a joint party of Police and 44RR in the orchards of Saidapora Payeen Shopian.
“Further investigation of the case is still going on,” he added.
