Cop Dies of Gunshot Injuries In Anantnag, Police Begins Probe

Srinagar- A policeman died of gunshot injuries in Hiller area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Wednesday.

A police official said that the selection grade constable of IRP 18 Battalion namely Umer Farooq of Poonch district was found dead with gunshot wounds.

He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

When asked if it could be a case of suicide, the officer said that investigation are on and details will be shared after it
