Downtown Heroes Suffer Added Time Defeat In I-League 2

SRINAGAR- The Downtown Heroes FC fell to a 1-0 loss to Jagat Singh Palahi Football Academy (JSPFA) in 2nd Division League (also known as I-League 2) Group Stage opener on Monday.

The match was played at Hargobind Stadium in Punjab was seemingly on its way to a draw when JSPFA managed to score the winning goal through Madan Bhattarai in 90+3 minute of added time.

The Heroes would be hard done by the loss, as the team will feel they deserved something from the game. Head Coach Hilal Rasool Parray has led the team to the Group Stage of the competition and would now want his team to look forward to the next match.

Downtown Heroes next play on March 17. They take on Delhi Football Club at Minerva Academy Ground in Punjab.

The Hero 2nd Division League is the third tier professional football league in India. The winners of the league are promoted to the I-League.
