Says Those People Who Gave Jobs To Terrorists, Their Families Have No Right To Raise Fingers At Recruitment Process
Srinagar- Hitting back at his opponents for launching a tirade against the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha said on Monday that those people who gave jobs to “terrorists and their families” have no moral ground to raise fingers at the ongoing recruitment process.
“I am assuring you that the recruitment process will be fair and transparent. Those days are gone when jobs were sold in shops or either given on the basis of recommendations,” Sinha said.
He made these comments while addressing a function after laying of foundation stones of various projects related to Jammu Smart City at Jammu Convention Centre.
The LG’s reaction comes at a time when thousands of job aspirants are holding protests in the Union Territory against the JKSSB for allegedly hiring a blacklisted company Aptech for conducting exams. J&K’s regional parties have also extended support to the protesting job aspirants and called upon the LG-led dispensation to cancel the exams.
However, taking potshots at his political opponents, the LG said that deliberate attempts were being made to stall the recruitment process.
“In last three years, 30,000 youth were provided government jobs. In 2023, we are planning to fill 12,000 more vacancies. However, some vested interests don’t want the recruitment process to go on,” he said.
Urging the protesting job aspirants not to fall in the trap of misinformation campaign, the LG said that his administration will not spare anyone found indulging in wrongdoings.
“What will those people say who gave jobs to terrorists and their family members? What moral ground do those people have who filled 1 lakh backdoor vacancies and have the audacity to talk about the ongoing recruitment process,” he said.
“Don’t get carried away with the instigators. I assure you that there will be no place left for dishonest people in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Referring to the cancellation of Sub-Inspector, Financial Account Assistant (FAA) and Junior Engineer recruitment examinations, Sinha said that his administration acted swiftly and handed over the case to CBI for probe.
“Without any delay, those examinations were cancelled. The case was handed over to the CBI for probe. I believe the CBI is an efficient investigative agency in the country,” he said.
“CBI has arrested many. Strictest action possible has been taken. And I assure you that no matter how influential any person is, the law will catch up with him and he will be definitely punished,” he added.
