J&K Govt Employee Lands In Jail Over FB Post

Srinagar- A government employee on Thursday was arrested for posting ‘hateful posts and comments’ on social networking website Facebook in Doda district of Jammu division, police said.

Amrik Singh, a class IV employee in the office of Chief Education officer (CEO) Doda, was found to have uploaded hateful post/comments on his Facebook account and in consequence of which, there were every apprehension of eruption of law and order problem in the district, a police spokesperson said Thursday.

He said sensing the sensitivity of the matter and to prevent the situation from turning into a law and order problem, police arrested Singh after preparing a detailed report.

“He was produced before Executive Magistrate Class 1st Doda. He was sent to district jail Bhaderwah under preventive detention,” the spokesperson added.
