Srinagar- From famous Kashmiri Wazwan to Chinese and Indian cuisine, food lovers could relish feasts of their choice in a hanging restaurant, which is set to be thrown open in Shalimar area of Srinagar this spring.
Mohammad Sultan Dar, owner of the first aerial eatery in Kashmir, said the restaurant will be suspended in the air with the help of a crane.
“Being unique, this flying restaurant makes customers feel a unique experience at the height of 160-200 meters from ground level,” Dar told Kashmir Observer.
“We are working on the project at the moment and hopefully it will be thrown open for the public in April this year.”
There is logic, he said, as to why April as chosen for its inauguration. “Pleasing weather coupled with mesmerizing beauty of Dal Lake with Zabarwan hills in the background will add to its uniqueness.”
The idea was mooted, Dar said, when he came across the Fly Dining restaurant in Goa, a couple of years ago.
After enquiring about the unique restaurant for almost a week, Dar went to Bangalore to get its franchise.
The restaurant brand has many franchisees in other parts of the country.
“After fulfilling requisite formalities,” he said, “I got the franchise and started work on it at Shalimar area of Srinagar. We are busy developing a beautiful garden on one kanal land at the moment and I hope that people fully enjoy service and appreciate the idea.”
Since people of Kashmir have hardly any idea about the hanging restaurant, the owner said, tourists are eager to enjoy meals in a sky hangout.
“Almost entire process has been completed and I am sure people would enjoy dining up in the sky,” Dar said.
“From wazwan to Indian and Chinese cuisine, everything will be available at Fly Dining.”
