6 J&K Ju-Jitsu Athletes Leave For Int’l Championship

JAMMU- Six Ju-Jitsu practitioners from J&K on Wednesday left to participate in the 7th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship to be held at Bangkok.

Ju-Jitsu Association of India selected the six players from Jammu and Kashmir for the championship, which will be held from 24 February to 28 February 2023.

The event is organized by Ju-Jitsu Asian Union which is recognised by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). Around 30 different countries including India will compete in this mega event.

Ju-Jitsu Athletes from J&K were selected at the National Selection Trials conducted on 5th February at New Delhi Delhi.

The Asian Championships will serve as a selection of Indian athletes for upcoming Asian Games at Hangzhou, China this year.

“Ju-Jitsu Association of J&K feels immense proud and congratulate the players namely Anirudh Verma, Koushal Garg, Zulfikar Ali, Rajesh Singh, Sabkat Malik and Umer Rasheed for their selection to participate in the said event. The whole team was trained under the expert guidance and leadership of Tarsem Sharma,” the association said in a press release.
