The Veteran Luthier of Kashmir

Since the old “Jashn-e-Kashmir” days when his hometown became a competing war-turf between Shers and Bakras, a laconic luthier had been guarding his neutrality and unassumingly making some of the finest musical instruments in his meditative workshop nestled on the banks of the musing Jhelum. Years later, the old city artisan became the talk of the town after the Government of India honoured his rare workmanship with the country’s fourth highest civilian award.
