J&K Delegation Meets International Sports Promoter

  • – J&K could host U-12, U-15 & pro football competitions
  • – Promoter has ties with SL Benfica and KSA Barcelona

SRINAGAR- A J&K delegation led by Jammu & Kashmir FA Election Commission Chairman Wasim Aslam met with renowned international sports promoter Ramneek Singh in New Delhi on Monday.

Ramneek Singh is the founder of Arshh Sports Research Foundation and Senior Consultant at 1 Play Sports, Singapore. He specializes in promoting top-level athletes, events to various countries and also specializes in organizing training camps for young athletes around the world.

In the meeting, Ramneek mentioned that a proposal is being worked upon to hold U-12 and U-15 and professional football competitions by global PSUs in Noida, Delhi, Chandigarh and J&K in the near future.

These competitions will be accredited by AIFF and will be organised in association with State FAs. The promoter also shared his views regarding various options available for players, including training camps in Europe, South America and Asia. He explained that each camp is tailored to the specific needs of the athletes, and focuses on skill development, teamwork, and mental preparation.

Wasim Aslam suggested the adoption of similar footprints for the uplifting and development of footballers of J&K to which he informed about their tie ups with SL Benfica and Kaptiva Sports Academy Barcelona for holding professional training camps in India.

The possibility of sending some of the region’s players to foreign training camps in order to improve their skills and gain international experience was also discussed during the meeting.
