Shots Fired During Military Cordon in South Kashmir

Srinagar- The government forces on Friday launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The search operation was launched jointly by Police, army’s 9RR and the personnel of CRPF 18 Battalion following information about the movement of suspected persons in DH Pora area, police said.

“Suspicious movement was reported during late afternoon in the main town DH Pora Kulgam. CASO was launched to search the area and some speculative shots were also fired. Police Kulgam, 9RR and CRPF 18 Bn are jointly conducting search,” Kulgam police posted on its official Twitter handle.
