9 Year-old Injured In Accidental Fire In Poonch Dies

Jammu- A minor boy, who was injured in accidental firing in Surankote area of Poonch district on Thursday, died at the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu on Friday.

Nine-year-old Afran Ahmed was playing near forest area of Sangla in Surankote tehsil when he was hit by an accidental fire from the rifle of a hunter Mohmmad Sharief on Thursday. He was removed to the GMC Jammu from GMC Rajouri for advanced treatment of gunshot injuries. However he succumbed to the grievous wounds.

SHO Surankote Rajveer Singh confirmed the death of the minor. He said police have already registered a case (FIR No. 10/2023) under relevant sections of law and further investigations are underway.
