Soldier Shoots Self Dead At Srinagar Old Airport

Budgam- A defence security corps personnel  allegedly committed suicide at the old air field in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, reports said Wednesday.

52-year-old Head constable Malkit Singh allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself dead using his service rifle at his unit 615 DSC platoon first wing Air force, a local news agency KDC reported. The deceased security man hailed from District Kapurthala in Punjab.

A police officer confirmed the incident and said the body was taken to district hospital Budgam for medico legal formalities where the body was shifted to GMC Srinagar along with a police party for further formalities.

The cognizance of this incident has been taken and further investigation has been set into motion, he added.
