Arms, Ammunition Recovered In Kupwara

Srinagar– The government forces on Wednesday recovered arms and ammunition during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Karnah area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Acting on specific information, Police alongwith Army’s 3/08GR launched a joint cordon & search operation in village Sadhpora Taad area of Karnah, Kupwara, a police spokesperson said Wednesday. During the search operation, he said, the joint team recovered arms & ammunition including 3 Pistols, 3 Pistol Magazines, 22 Pistol rounds and 3 Chinese Grenades from a house belonging to Shameem Ahmad Shiekh.

“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 02/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress,” the spokesperson added.
