SRINAGAR- The two days District Srinagar Athletic Championship 2022, which was held from 14 to 15 December, concluded On Thursday at the historic Bakhshi Stadium, Srinagar. More than 230 athletes participated in the championship. Indumeet Singh (most senior athletic player) and Manager Bakhshi Stadium Altaf Ahmad declared the championship open.
Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul was the chief guest while as Muzaffar Ahmad, Asif Iqbal, Ravinder Kaur, Madam Rehna, Tahir Ahmad were the guest of honours on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion President Tufail Ramzan and Secretary Tajinder Singh of Distt. Srinagar Athletic Association said the association will organise more and more athletic events in the coming time.
A total of 14 Field & Track events were held over the two days. The medallists in the championship will now take part in the upcoming J&K UT Athletic Championship, scheduled to be held at Jammu in the month of January 2023.
The championship was organised by District Srinagar Athletic Association under the aegis of J&K Amateur Athletic Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and was sponsored by Amigos and Cavins.
