Letter To Editor | Declining Book Reading Culture

Share

THE editorial page came up with something special. I, as a student, had almost forgotten about the decline in book reading culture in Kashmir. The main cause behind it is the mushrooming growth of the Internet. However, the diverse opinions on the page nudged me and compelled me to read these at the earliest.  Though I shared my views regarding this, I was enthusiastic to know what others think about it. From academicians to budding writers and students, everyone shared their ideas. Variety of opinions opened the closed doors of the mind and I began to ponder over the reality of book reading culture in Kashmir. In short, congratulations to the authors and the team of the Kashmir Observer for this out-of-box idea. Let the book reading culture prevail again in the age of the Internet.
