Body Of Kupwara Man Retrieved From River Jhelum In Sopore

Rescue Operation in Jhelum

Srinagar- Body of a man hailing from Kupwara was retrieved, hours after he allegedly jumped into river Jhelum in Sopore area of North Kashmir.

News agency GNS quoting officials reported that one Ali Mohammad Wani, son of Atta Mohammad purportedly jumped into the river. A rescue operation was instantly launched at the site by Police, NDRF and locals, following which the body was retrieved.

“A pheran (cloak) mobile phone and some documents of the person were found lying nearby”, they said.

Confirming it, a police official said that a case has been registered in this regard.
