AWANTIPORA- Prof. Shakil A Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST on Thursday inaugurated the 3rd Vice Chancellor’s Cricket Tournament, along with Inter Department Cricket Tournament (Men and Women), at Islamic University of Science and Technology. The event organised by the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports, IUST will run from Nov. 17 – 30, 2022.
Vice Chancellor said that such events are important to ensure the overall development of personality and help in mitigating the pressures that individuals battle on daily basis. He appreciated the participation of women’s teams and emphasized that sports engender camaraderie and team spirit, and should form an inseparable part of our daily routine. He wished the players the best and emphasized playing the game in a good but competitive spirit.
A total of 24 teams (10 staff and 14 student teams) will be participating in the two tournaments. Present on the occasion were Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Dean Research, Finance Officer, other Officers, Students, Faculty, and Staff members.
