4% DA Hike For Govt Employees, Pensioners

Srinagar- The Lieutenant Governor administration on Monday ordered 4 percent hike in dearness allowance for all the government employees and the pensioners with effect from July1 this year.

In an order issued here on Monday, the General Administration Department (GAD) said that the government employees working in regular pay levels under 7th pay commission recommendations, will be paid dearness allowance at a revised rate of 38% of basic pay from the existing 34 percent. The revised rates, according to the order, will be effective from July 1, this year.

Giving more clarity, the order said that the basic pay in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed level in the pay matrix as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations, but does not include any other type of pay like special pay etc.

“The arrears on account of additional installment of DA with effect from July, 2022 shall be paid in cash in two equal installments (one in the month of November, 2022 and other in the month of December, 2022) and shall form part of salary from November onwards,” reads the order issued by Secretary, Finance department.

“The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving fractions of 50 paisa and above may be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paisa shall be ignored,” it adds.

In a similar order issued by the Secretary Finance Department, the government said that the arrears on account of additional installment of DA with effect from July shall be paid in cash to Government Pensioners/Family pensioners in two equal installments (one in November and other in December) and shall form part of pension /family pension from November onwards.

“Other provisions governing the grant of Dearness Allowance on pension/family pension such as the regulations of Dearness Allowance during employment Ire-employment, where more than one pension is drawn etc. and other provisions of the existing rules/orders(as are not in conflict with provisions of this order), shall continue to remain in force,” the order reads.
