Srinagar- One person died and two others were successful in making it back to the embankment after a boat they were travelling in capsized in Wular Lake in Bandipora district on Wednesday.
Officials said that three persons were carrying willow twigs when the boat suddenly sank near Banyari village of north Kashmir district this morning. While two persons swam their way back to safety and reached the embankment, they said, the third one went missing and a rescue operation was launched to retrieve his body.
They said added that after hectic efforts, his body was retrieved in the afternoon
The deceased has been identified as Javeed Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Baniyari.
