Says Terror Outfits Facing Leadership Crisis
Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said on Sunday that the special focus of police this year remained on foreign terrorists, as around forty of them were killed in different encounters across the Union Territory.
Talking to journalists on the sidelines of Kashmir Marathaon-2022 organised by the police here on Sunday, the DGP also said that the cross-border infiltration is by and large under control.
“Some attempts are time and again made to push the terrorists here and in recent past infiltration attempts were foiled in Rajouri-Poonch, Kupwara-Baramulla areas,” Singh said, adding “Today, all outfits are facing a leadership crisis as their infrastructure stands dismantled to a great extent.”
He said some terrorists managed to sneak in, most of them have been neutralized and man hunt is on to track down the others.
The DGP also said that at present Pakistan is trying to push in as many terrorists here as in winter it is always difficult to cross the border. He said that the border grid is very strong to foil their evil attempts.
“Pakistan agencies are trying to have the command of terror group particularly Jeish and LeT in the hands of Pakistani terrorists so that they could fulfill their evil designs on their own directions,” he said.
“This year our special focus remained on foreign terrorists who are misleading and misguiding our youth to join terror ranks and during the process we have been able to eliminate around 40 foreign terrorists,” he added.
Singh also said that Pak agencies are trying to create some new groups here and are sending readymade IEDs to create disturbance and added that their each and every anti peace attempt would be foiled with fortitude.
Earlier, the DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir during the past three decades has witnessed destruction and disturbance and has now entered in such a stage where we have a clear choice to strengthen the peace and work for a better future by rejecting the path of destruction.
He said that huge participation in these activities puts across the message of peace and progress.
“We have to work collectively for a better future so that our youth would come out of fear and live a peaceful and dignified life,” Singh said.
“The way people, particularly youth, are cooperating and supporting the peace activities, I am sure we would be able to put an end to the dark period of JK history,” he added.
The DGP said that the Police would continue its tireless efforts to provide a better environment to our people and safeguard the interests of the nation.
