Covid-19: J&K Clocks 67 New Cases

Srinagar- As many as 67 more people tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in the Union Territory to 478562.

Officials said that 57 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus were detected in the Kashmir Valley and the remaining ten from several districts of Jammu division.

In the Valley, they said, Srinagar reported the highest 21 new cases of virus, Baramulla 12, Budgam 11, Pulwama 5, Kulgam 4, Kupwara and Anantnag 2 each. The three districts of Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian registered no new cases of Covid-19.

In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 6 new cases of infection, Kathua 2, Samba and Udhampur 1 each. No new cases were detected in the remaining six districts of Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi.

The overall death toll, they said, also remained unchanged at 4783, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.

“Moreover, 116 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 30fromJammu division and 86from Kashmir division,” the officials added.
