Labourer Slips Into River Jhelum In Srinagar, Rescue Ops On

Srinagar- A labourer drowned in river Jhelum while extracting sand in Sonwar area of Srinagar on Thursday morning even as rescue operation has been launched.

News agency KNO quoting official sources reported that Mohammad Jaffar Wani (22) resident of Banihal drowned in the river Jhelum while extracting sand.

They said that rescue operation has been launched by Srinagar River police and SDRF to retrieve his body.

Notably, River police saved lives of two teenagers who drowned in Jhelum while taking bath a few days ago.
