Woman’s Body Retrieved From Sindh Stream

Srinagar- Rescue workers on Tuesday retrieved the body of a woman, who drowned in gushing waters of Sindh nallah in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday.

Body of 38-year-old Masrat Bano was recovered by a joint team of police, SDRF personnel and local volunteers from the Gagangeer area of the district on Tuesday morning, reports said. A resident of Banibagh Kangan, Masrat had drowned in Sindh stream on Monday evening.

SHO police station Sonamarg, Younis Bashir told a local news agency KDC that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation started in this regard.

He said after legal formalities, the body will be handed over to her kin for carrying out her last rites.
