Srinagar- The family members of the Barzulla resident, who was found dead with five others in Sidhra locality of Jammu, ruled out speculations of suicide and sought a thorough investigation into the case.
The Jammu police on Wednesday found bodies of six persons, including a woman from two houses in Sidhra, Jammu. Five of the deceased are from Marmat in Doda district and one from Barzulla area of Srinagar.
Fayaz Bhat, uncle of Noor-ul-Habib from Barzulla told Kashmir Observer that on Tuesday evening, Habib wasn’t receiving their phone calls and they became apprehensive about his well-being.
“We reached out to neighbours and other relatives on the phone but there was no positive response. With no option left, we then approached the Sidhra police,” Bhat said.
He further added that after reaching the spot, the Sidhra police informed them about the death of Habib and other relatives. The family members of Habib then rushed towards Sidhra in the midnight.
Alleging some foul play, Bhat said that he knew Habib very well and was sure that he would not go to the extreme of killing himself.
“We believe this is a clear case of murder. The police is investigating the case and we have full faith on them (police),” Bhat added.
Bhat recalled that Habib spoke to his mother a few days ago and promised her that he would return home after a few days.
“He didn’t visit Kashmir for many years and used to stay in Jammu. He told his mother that he was missing his relatives,” Bhat added.
According to him, Habib was working with an online banking firm in the United States and used to work from home.
Meanwhile, the police have formed a Special Investigation Team to unravel the mystery surrounding these deaths.
