Chandanwari Accident: LG Lauds Courage, Valour Of Slain ITBP Men

Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday paid tributes to the paramilitary ITBP personnel, who lost their lives in a bus accident near Chandanwari in the tourist resort of Pahalgam on Tuesday.

Attending the ceremonial honours for the slain ITBP personnel at the District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar, the LG said “the nation will never forget their courage, valour and supreme sacrifice”.

The mortal remains of the deceased were sent to their respective native places for their last rites with full military honours.

Meanwhile, the LG discussed the treatment and medical support being provided to the ITBP personnel with the DG of the force Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen at Raj Bhavan here, an official spokesperson said.

He said that the critically injured will be airlifted to AIIMS trauma centre for advanced treatment.

Pertinently, the spokesperson said, the LG had visited the Army Hospital Srinagar on Tuesday to inquire about the well-being of ITBP personnel injured in the tragic road accident.
