Covid Spikes In J&K, 165 Test Positive

Srinagar- The daily Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to show a spike as 165 more people tested positive for virus on Thursday, even as no fresh fatality was reported in the Union Territory during the last 24hours.

According to officials, Jammu division registered 112 fresh cases of Covid-19 while 53 others were detected from parts of the Kashmir Valley, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K 456456.

In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar detected 43 new cases of virus, Ganderbal five, Anantnag two and Pulwama, Baramulla and Kupwara reported one case each. No cases of infection were reported from the remaining four districts of the Valley.

In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported 92 fresh cases of Covid-19,
Udhampur seven, Kathua six, Samba four, while Rajouri, Ramban and Reasi, registered one case each.

“Moreover, 119 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 75 from Jammu division and 44 from Kashmir division,” the officials said.

Also, they said that the death toll in the pandemic remained unchanged at 4758 in J&K—2333 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality due to virus was reported in the Union Territory in the last 24 hours.
