J&K Police Accords Sanction For Attachment Of Properties Under UAPA

Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Police has accorded sanction for the attachment of four residential houses and seizure of three vehicles used for providing assistance in militant activities.

In different orders, the police headquarters accorded sanction for the attachment of four residential houses which were involved in harbouring and providing assistance to carry out militant activities, a police spokesman said.

Besides, sanctions were also accorded for the seizure of three vehicles, including one two-wheeler, used for unlawful activities, the spokesman said.

“In case FIR No. 48/2021 U/S 120-B, 302, 307, 392 IPC 7/27, 7/27 A Act 16,18, 20 UAPA of Police Station Parimpora, during the investigation it was found that 03 residential houses of Mohd Yousuf Sofi father of accused Baber Suhail R/O Lawaypora Sofi, Adil Mohammad Lone S/O Gh. Mohammad Lone R/O Lawaypora, Khursheed Ahmad Father of accused Muzaffar Ahmad Mir & Rameez Ahamd Mir R/O Maloora were used for providing assistance to 03 (militants) involved in the commission of militant attack upon CRPF personnel deployed for ROP duties at Lawypora NHW Srinagar. In this (militant) incident 04 CRPF personnel got injured and 02 out of them succumbed to their injuries. During investigation it was also revealed that the accused have provided shelter and all logistic support to the (militants) in their houses for several times to carry out (militant) attack,” he added.

“In an another case FIR No. 95/2021 U/S 307 IPC 7/27 I A Act 13, 16, 18, 19, 20, UA (P) Act of Police Station Harwan Srinagar it was found that the residential house of Ab Rehman Bhat S/o Ab Razak Bhat R/o Darbagh Harwan was used for (militant) activities as his son namely Ashiq Hussain Bhat was harbouring (militants) in it. In view of facts circumstances and the evidence collected during the investigation of the instant case, it has been proved that the immovable property i.e. instant residential house represents “Proceeds of Terrorism”.

“During investigation of case FIR No.110/2022 U/S 353 IPC 13,38,39 UA (P) Act 7/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Ganderbal and in investigation of case FIR No. 151/2022 U/S 307 IPC, 7/27 I. A. Act, 16,18,19,20,38,39 ULAP Act of P/S Pulwama, it came to fore that vehicle Scorpio bearing registration number HR51AR-5070 registered in the name of Lateef Ahmad Kambay son of Gh. Mohd Kamby resident of Wakora Tulmulla Ganderbal and one Piago Auto load carrier bearing registration No. JK13E-7129 registered in the name of Aquib Yousuf Mir son of Mohd Yousuf Mir resident of Hakripora (brother of accused Mohd Saleem Mir) and TVS Scooty bearing registration No. JK13G-2726 registered in the name of accused Irshad Ahmad Malik son of Mohd Ismayil Malik were used for carrying out (militant) activities,” he further said

“In exercise of powers conferred by section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the DGP J&K has accorded sanction for attachment/seizure of the immovable/movable properties in these cases,” he said.

Last year, the police headquarters accorded sanction for seizure of 75 vehicles, five houses, six shops, land and cash under the UAPA.
