Anantnag District Level U-19 Competitions Declared Open By MoS MHA

PAHALGAM- Department of Youth Services and Sports District Anantnag on Friday kick started U-19 competitions for Kabaddi and Tug of War at famous health resort, the land of Shepherds, Pahalgam.

On this occasion MoS Ministry of Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra was the chief guest. District Development Council Chairman Muhammad Yousuf Gorsi, Deputy Inspector General SKR, SSP Anantnag, Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag, along with other senior officers and officials of the District Administration participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion MoS Mishra highlighted the policies of government for the welfare of the youth, particularly towards the sports development. He congratulated the Department Of Youth Services & Sports for conducting such events for the betterment of youth. He also urged upon the youth to take part sports activities besides working hard to excel in studies.

The inaugural Kabaddi match was played between HSS Pahalgam and HSS Batakoot which was won by HSS Batakoot, while as Tug of War match was won by HSS Pahalgam by defeating HSS Batakoot. On the occasion a colourful cultural program was displayed by HSS Pahalgam and traditional Gojri language song was presented by students of HSS Batakoot.

Later a presentation Ceremony was held at which the MoS distributed prizes among the 1st and 2nd place holders.

Also 13 cricketkKits were distributed by MoS Mishra among 13 schools drawn from 12 education zones of the District.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer, technical officials, members of Activities Section were also present on the occasion.
