Share

Srinagar- Kothi Bagh Police Station suffered massive damages after a fire incident took place during night. The fire incident took place two days after Traffic Police headquarter in Srinagar was partially gutted in a blaze.

The Police Station Kothibagh is located adjacent to the Traffic Police Headquarters.

Officials said the cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Talking to Kashmir Observer, an official of Kothi Bagh Police Station said the second floor has been completely damaged.

“The floor hosts office rooms which have been reduced to ashes”.

“Although it is too early to comment on the cause of the fire, it may have been caused by a short circuit” he said.

He further said Firefighters from the Fire & Emergency Services swung into action and brought the fire under control.

“The swift action of the firefighters helped prevent damages on a large scale”, the official said.

It is pertinent to mention, two days back Traffic Police headquarters were also partially damaged in a blaze, which broke out in the wee hours.

The fire had damaged the top floor of the headquarters.
