The contingent of girl trekkers consisting of 50 girl students from different Government schools of district Srinagar was flagged-off for Pahalgam along with 7 officials from the Department. Simultaneously 50 male students from district Srinagar were also flagged-off for the trekking camp to Sonmarg.
While expressing their thoughts about such initiatives of the Department, young trekkers looked very enthusiastic about it and took a pledge that they would utilise this opportunity in shaping up their personality.
On the flag off, Director YSS advised the students to enjoy their life to the fullest in nature’s beautiful destinations of Pahalgam and Sonmarg.
Director Sports impressed upon the students to avoid much mobile usage and to go through the history of these naturally rich and ecstatically beautiful places.
He advised the student trekkers that while trekking they should keep their surroundings clean and litter free.
While addressing the students Director YSS said that the Department of Youth Services & Sports will continue to organise such trekking camps for the students and non-students of other districts as well.
Keeping in view COVID-19 pandemic, Director YSS directed the escorting officials to ensure that enough sanitisers and other medicines for tackling emergencies are kept available for the trekkers.
Others who were present at the flag-off ceremony included DYSSO Srinagar Balbir Singh Sodhi and other senior officers and officials of the Department.
The camp is organised by Youth Services and Sports office Srinagar.
