SRINAGAR: The District Srinagar Fencing Association under the aegis of Adhoc Committee of J&K Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and DYSS, organised the Championship at Indoor Hall, BHSS Rawalpora Srinagar.
The 3-day long event saw the participation of 70 players including boys and girls from different Government and Private schools of Srinagar participated in Epee, Foil and Sabre events.
Nuzat Ara, Divisional Sports Officer, JKSC, was the chief guest on the occasion while Tanveera Ji, Principal GHSS Rawalpora, Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, Convener, were among the guest of honours. PEM and NIS qualified coach, Raziya Sultana was the Organising Secretary of the event. Technical experts PEM Niyaz Ahmed and PET Mehmood, Sawan Magotra and Chahat Singh officiated the bouts.
Men’s Sabre results: Numaan from BHSS Nawakadal bagged the Gold, while Silver went to Amaan from BHSS Rawalpora. The Bronze was shared by Zain-ul-Abidin of Gandhi College and Jibran of BHSS Natipora.
Men’s Foil results: Zakir from BHSS Jawahar Nagar secured Gold while as Danish BHSS Hyderpora won Silver. The Bronze went to Muneeb from Srinagar Public School and Uzair from BHSS Soura.
Men’s Epee results: Gold went to Owais from BHSS Rawalpora, Silver to Ram Pariyar BHSS Rawalpora and Bronze to Aamir from BHSS Rawalpora.
In Girl’s Saber results: Gold went to Mehvish Mushtaq from BHSS Telbal, Silver to Saika GHSS Nishat and Bronze to Saista and Adiba from GHSS Kothibagh.
Girl’s Epee results: Gold went to Mehak GHSS Nawakadal, Silver to Arjula GHSS Nawakadal and Bronze to Doha and Angila from GHSS Nawakadal.
Women’s Foil results: Gold and Silver went to Zainab Gulzar and Zainab Mukhtar GHSS Nawakadal respectively and Bronze went to Nazima from GHSS Amirakadal and Simran from Girls Middle School Rampura.
