143 New Cases, 1 Covid Death In J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Saturday 143 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while one more person succumbed to the virus in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to the officials, 108 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and 35 from the winter capital, raising the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 328881.

In Valley, the officials said, Srinagar reported a maximum 52 cases followed by Baramulla with 17, Budgam 14, Bandipora 6, Pulwama and Kupwara 4 each and Anantnag 2. No fresh case was reported from Ganderbal and the twin south Kashmir districts of Kulgam and Shopian.

In the winter capital, officials said, Rajouri reported 11, Doda 8, Jammu 7, Poonch and Reasi 3 each, Kishtwar 2 and Samba one new case of Covid-19. Udhampur, Kathua and Ramban districts reported no case of virus on Saturday.
Also, the officials said that 153 more Covid-19 patients have recovered—31 from Jammu and 153 from Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the deadly infection claimed one more life in Jammu division, taking fatality count to 4421—2173 in Jammu and 2248 in Kashmir.
