J&K Logs 77 New Cases, 135 Recoveries

Srinagar: In a positive trend, 135 people infected by coronavirus recovered in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while 77 new cases of virus and one death was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to officials, 135 more Covid-19 infected patients have recovered—48 from Jammu division and 87 from the Valley during the last 24 hours. During the same time, 77 fresh cases of virus surfaced in J&K— 54 from Kashmir and 23 from the winter capital, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 323499.

Giving district-wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 14, Baramulla 12, Budgam 8, Pulwama 8, Kupwara 2, Anantnag 2, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal 7, Jammu 4, Udhampur 4, Rajouri 8, Doda 6 and Samba 1 new case of coronavirus. No fresh case of Covid-19 was detected in the seven districts of the Union Territory, including Shopian, Kulgam, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi.

Also, the officials said, one coronavirus related death was reported from Jammu thus taking the overall fatality count to 4398—2158 in Jammu and 2240 in Kashmir.
