Srinagar- Independence Day celebrations were held in SKUAST-Kashmir with grandeur, gaiety, fervour and enthusiasm.
Prof. Shabir A Wani, Dean Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir unfurled the flag followed by playing of National Anthem. All the Head of Divisions/ Professors / Associate Professors of Shalimar Campus and employees residing at Shalimar Campus were present during the event.
Besides SKUAST-K administration / non-teaching staff also participated in the event.
In view of bad weather all the participants gathered in Conference Hall of Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat for celebrating of the event, where Prof. Wani thanked all the Scientific as well as non-teaching staff for their active participation especially admired Prof. Junaid Nazir Khan, Associate Dean, CoE&T and Nisar Ahmad Dar, PRO SKUAST-K for their role in making the event success.
In view of spread of Covid-19 pandemic, independence day was celebrated after following some preventive measures, like use of sanitizers, wearing of face masks and maintaining of social distancing.
