J&K Sees 176 New Covid Cases, 2 Deaths

Srinagar: As many as 176 people tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, while two more persons succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 80 new cases of novel coronavirus while 96 were detected from various parts of the Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 323061

Giving district-wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 21, Baramulla 7, Budgam 10, Pulwama 4, Kupwara 1, Anantnag 15, Bandipora 10, Ganderbal 10, Kulgam 2, Jammu 5, Udhampur 2, Rajouri 3, Doda 5, Kathua 4, Samba 1, Kishtwar 2, Poonch 1, and Reasi 73 new cases of coronavirus. No fresh case of Covid-19 was reported from twin districts of Shopian and Ramban in J&K.

Also, officials said, 164 more patients have recovered, 75 from Jammu Division and 89 from Kashmir Valley.

Regarding the coronavirus related deaths, the officials said, both fatalities were reported from Jammu division. With these deaths, Covid-19 has claimed lives of 4395 people in J&K—2156 in Jammu division and 2239 in Kashmir.
