18 Goals Scored On Opening Day Of Premier UT League 2020-21

SRINAGAR: The 2nd Phase of JKFA and JKSC organised Premier UT League 2020-21 kicked off on Monday at Synthetic Turf Ground TRC with two matches played which saw a combined total of 18 goals scored.

The event was inaugurated by Nuzhat Gul, Secretary JKSC, accompanied by Nuzhat Ara, DSO (Kashmir), Nusrat Ghazala SO (C), Fayaz Ahmad Sofi, President JKFA and other officials of JKFA & JKSC.

The first match of the day was played between Khudwani Quimoh FC (Kulgam) and J&K Bank XI. A one-sided affair, J&K Bank defeated Khudwani FC by a margin of 10 goals. The 2nd match was played between Kashmir Avengers FC and Iqbal FC (Bandipora). The Avengers dominated the field right from the start and scored 8 goals against the team from Bandipora.

Earlier, the JKSC Secretary was introduced to the players of the competing teams. The Secretary interacted with the footballers and coaches and listened to their genuine demands. She asserted that the youth of J&K should actively participate in different sports events. She said that the JKSC will always provide logistics support and informed the players that they are welcome to suggest certain measures for the development of sports and games.

Two more matches of the Premier League are scheduled to take place today. In the first match, Ethihad FC (Pulwama) will take on Dar Sports (Kupwara) at 2:30 pm. While in the 2nd match, Ferrari Lions (Ganderbal) will lock horns against Shopian FC at 4:30pm. The matches will be played at the Synthetic Turf Ground Srinagar.
