24 Corona Deaths, 1718 New Cases Recorded in J&K

Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed the lives of 24 more people in Jammu and Kashmir while 1718 fresh cases of infection were reported across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

Officials said 17 more people from the Valley succumbed to virus at the various healthcare facilities while seven people died of coronavirus in Jammu division thus taking the overall fatality count since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 3963.

Regarding the 1718 fresh cases,1133 were confirmed by officials from Kashmir valley and the remaining 585 were detected across the Jammu division, taking the number of people infected by the virus to 294078.

Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 320, Baramulla 102, Budgam 137, Pulwama 158, Kupwara 90, Anantnag 103, Bandipora 62, Ganderbal 53, Kulgam 81, Shopian 27, Jammu 169, Udhampur 57, Rajouri 75, Doda 52, Kathua 25, Samba 41, Kishtwar 33, Poonch 62, Ramban 49and Reasi 22 new cases of coronavirus.

Also, officials said, 3391 more patients have recovered, 1327 from Jammu Division and 2064 from Kashmir valley.

Meanwhile, officials said two new confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported today, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 12 in J&K.
