COVID Graph in J&K Declines, 1525 New Cases Recorded

Srinagar: Continuing to show a considerable decline in the last few days, Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 1525 new coronavirus cases while 37 more people succumbed to the infection across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

Officials said 20 more people died of Covid-19 in Jammu division while 17 others succumbed at the various healthcare facilities in the Valley thus taking the total number of fatalities since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K last year to 3907.

Among others, the officials said the victims from Jammu division included a 66-year-old man from Bajalta, a 64-year-old man from Raipur Bantalab, a 75-year-old man from Shastri Nagar, an 88-year-old man from Shakti Nagar, an 80-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman from Sarwal, an 84-year-old Talab Tillo Nagar, a 78-year-old from Rehari Colony and an 85-year-old man from RS Pura Jammu.

An 80-year-old man from Samboora in Pulwama and a 71-year-old man from Wasoora Anantnag were among the victims from the Valley.

Regarding the fresh cases, the officials said that 1000 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 525 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in J&K to 290465.

Giving district-wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 253, Baramulla 102, Budgam 121, Pulwama 77, Kupwara 181, Anantnag 88, Bandipora 35, Ganderbal 46, Kulgam 65, Shopian 32, Jammu 278, Udhampur 25, Rajouri 40, Doda 64, Kathua 13, Samba 6, Kishtwar 14, Poonch 29, Ramban 36and Reasi 20 fresh cases of Covid-19.

Moreover, officials said, 4070 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—1801 from Jammu Division and 2269 from Kashmir.
