Save Economy by Vaccines

Share

THE covid-19 pandemic has brought a number of issues besides threat to life. The greatest challenge that it has posed in third world countries is the threat to livelihood. In developed countries, it was quite achievable to impose a lockdown and still not a catastrophe ufold for a majority.

However, in India, besides death, the pandemic has unleashed the tribulations of hunger and poverty as well. With the second wave taking lives mercilessly, many of those from lower and middle class backgrounds are losing their sole breadwinners.

Lockdown seems to be the only option in a situation which seems too hard to control. However, what when this wave subsides? Who will ensure that another wave doesn’t come and replay all the distress?

Therefore, it is extremely important for the government to scale up vaccination at war footing. We cannot lose this time and opportunity. The future, in every sense of the word, depends on getting vaccinated. It is our only option at hand.

Through vaccination, another deadly third wave can be averted which would in turn allow for the economy to recuperate freely without the threat of further hindrance. Therefore, the central government should ensure that vaccines reach state governments and union territories without any delay.

We had to fly in oxygen at the last moment. Why can’t we have vaccines?
