Senior Journalist Gulzar Ahmad No More

Srinagar: Senior journalist Gulzar Ahmad passed away at his home in Budgam after a prolonged illness on Tuesday. He was 70.

Resident Editor with the local Urdu daily, Srinagar News, Gulzar’s journalistic career spanned over three decades. Earlier Gulzar worked with Kashmir Observer from 1996 till 1998.

Gulzar was unwell for the last three years and was mostly confined to his home in village Shoolipora in central district of Budgam.

His death has been widely mourned.

Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) condoled the demise, stating that Kashmir media fraternity has lost a dear friend who would always bring cheer to his colleagues by his wit and humor.

Veteran journalist Altaf Hussain remembered Gulzar Ahmad as a jolly person who would always wear a smile on his face.
