Srinagar: At least three members of the banned socio-political organisation Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) have been booked under unlawful activities Act (UAPA) in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Mudasir Hasan Mir, Abdul Hayat Alaie, both residents of Sallar and Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Lever village in the south Kashmir district have been booked on charges of harbouring, aiding militants and hatching conspiracy after their arrest by police, news agency KNT reported.
Quoting sources, the report said that a case FIR number 35/2021 has been registered against the trio.
They have been booked under section 10 (Penalty for being a member of an unlawful association, etc.) 11 (Penalty for dealing with funds of an unlawful association) 13 (Punishment for unlawful activities) 18 (Punishment for conspiracy, etc) 19 (Punishment for harbouring, etc) 20 (Punishment for being member of gang or militant organisation) 38 (Offence relating to membership of a militant organisation) 39 (Offence relating to support given to a militant organisation) 40 (Offence of raising fund for a militant organisation) of ULA (P) Act.
