KU Closes Campus After Cases Detected

Srinagar: The Kashmir University administration on Thursday announced closure of its main campus for two days from Friday after cases of coronavirus were detected among the employees of the various units of the Varsity.

The campus will remain closed for two days on April 23-24; however, essential services staff of the university health centre, sanitation, landscape wing, construction division, proctorial wing etc shall continue to perform their duties with full strength, the KU administration said.

Registrar Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir said that employees experiencing symptoms of coronavirus are advised to get themselves screened for the infection.

Meanwhile, all the university examinations scheduled on April 23 and April 24 have also been postponed.

“Fresh dates of postponed examinations will be notified later on,” Controller of Examinations Prof Irshad A Nawchoo said.
