Woman Dies Of Covid-19

Srinagar: An octogenarian woman from south Kashmir died of coronavirus on Friday, even as the Union Territory reported more recoveries than fresh cases of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.

An 83-year-old woman of Janglat Mandi in Anantnag succumbed to Covid-19 on Friday, raising the fatality count to 1933 in J&K—1213 in Valley and 720 in Jammu division, officials said.

Srinagar district with 454 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (370), Baramulla (174), Budgam (117), Kupwara (95), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (85), Doda (64), Bandipora (61), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (54), Rajouri (55), Kathua (52), Ganderbal (46), Shopian (39), Samba (39), Poonch (24), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(22), and Reasi (15).

Meanwhile, J&K reported more recoveries than fresh cases of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, officials said. They said 76 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, while 215 more patients were discharged after recovery from various hospitals— 115 from Jammu Division and 100 from Kashmir.

So far 121617 people have recovered while 1933 people have died, leaving the number of active cases in J&K at 823— 198 in Jammu and 625.

Among the new cases, officials said that 60 were reported from Kashmir Valley and 16 from Jammu. In all, nine districts reported no fresh case.

Giving district wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 32, Baramulla 10, Budgam 5, Kupwara 7, Anantnag 4, Bandipora 1, Kulgam 1, Jammu 11, Udhampur 3 and Samba and Poonch one each new case of Covid-19.(With GNS inputs)
