J&K Logs Six Covid-19 Deaths, 308 New Cases

Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed the lives of six more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, even as the Union Territory reported 308 new cases, including fourteen travellers during the last 24 hours.

Among the six victims, officials said, included a resident of Kashmir Valley—a 65 man from Kupwara besides five persons from Jammu division—a 61-year-old man Naseeb Nagar Jammu, an 80-year-old man from Bhalwal Jammu, a 78-year-old man from Vijaypur Samba, a 58-year-old woman from Doda and a 45-year-old man from Reasi.

With these deaths, the total fatality count in J&K reached 1850—1169 in the Valley and 681in the Jammu region.

Srinagar district with 443 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (346), Baramulla (170), Budgam (106), Kupwara (89), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (82), Doda (61), Bandipora (58), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (54), Kathua (48), Ganderbal (43), Shopian (37), Samba (37), Poonch (22), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(21), and Reasi (14).

Meanwhile, fourteen travellers were among 308 fresh cases detected across J&K in the last 24 hours, officials said. Among them, they said, 174 are from Jammu division and 134 from Valley.

Giving district wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 65 cases, Baramulla 14, Budgam 21, Kupwara 2, Pulwama 12, Anantnag 4, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 4, Kulgam 4, Shopian 1, Jammu 99, Udhampur 14, Rajouri 10, Doda 6, Kathua 7, Kishtwar 6, Samba 14, Poonch 2, and Reasi 16.

Moreover, they said, 281 more patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—111 from Jammu Division and 170 from Kashmir Valley. (With GNS inputs)
