J&K Govt Forms Panel of Doctors To Meet Emergency Cases

Srinagar: The J&K health department on Saturday constituted a committee of senior doctors to streamline the working of emergency rooms for dealing with emergency cases.

According to an order issued by the Director Health Services Kashmir, the committee which comprises specialist doctors has been tasked with supervising emergency care across Kashmir.

Director Health Services Kashmir, Sameer Mattoo said that the emergency rooms have been set up in each hospital for dealing with emergency cases.

As per the director, Emergency Rooms (ERs) have been set up in each district hospital which are equipped with monitors, life saving drugs, essential equipment and staff.

These ER rooms will be dealing with emergency cases like trauma, cardiac arrest etc.

The committee comprises of Dr Manzoor A Rather, Consultant Anesthesia, Dr Akhtar Ganaie, Consultant Surgeon, Dr Muzaffar Zargar, Consultant Physician, Dr Nasir Shams, Consultant Physician, Dr Liza Rafiq, Consultant Gynecologist, Dr Irshad Tabassum, Consultant Orthopedic and Dr Massarat Sultan, Consultant Pediatrician.

The committee has to ensure accountability and create coherence in the functioning of emergency rooms across the division.

The Chief Medical Officers have been directed to cooperate and ensure functioning of emergency rooms.
